Welcome to the Week of Prayer - Day 4 (Thursday 26th April 2018)
If you missed yesterday's devotional, you can catch up here.
When Jesus was asked ‘teach us how to pray’ he answered with what has become known as the Lord’s prayer. He didn’t give it to us so we could recite it, but so we could have a template to help us in our prayers. We will be looking at this prayer template over our week of prayer.
TODAY, WE CONTINUE WITH "FORGIVE US OUR SINS, AS WE FORGIVE THOSE WHO SIN AGAINST US"...
Sins are offences against others. If a friend asked you to take your shoes off before walking over their nice new carpet and you willfully refused, walked in and your shoes created a muddy pathway in their living room – you would have sinned against them.
We’re all sinners – we’ve regularly gone against Gods desires and tried to do what we want but He’s pre-disposed to forgive, to redeem you, to forget your offence and to help you live a better way. His mercies are new every morning and you can bring your offences before Him and find cleansing and hope.
We also offend others and others offend us – but let’s remember this… ‘no one has offended us as much as we offended God’. The forgiveness we find from Him we can extend to others. If we don’t extend such forgiveness to others, it doesn’t really make sense – it probably shows that we haven’t fully understand God’s forgiveness towards us.
God is a forgiving God and His people are a forgiving people. Let’s be set free from our offences daily and let’s daily release others of their offences towards us.
Don's Daily Devotional
Join us for an inspiring and exciting adventure exploring God’s Word with Don Edmonds. Don has been a prayer warrior in our church for many years, and we asked him to lead us in 5 scriptures that we can pray into our lives this prayer week.
Our key scripture this week is Psalm 103:1-5.
